The Compex iWavePort WL54AG is a standard wireless LAN card that fits neatly into your notebooks PCMCIA or Card Bus slot. It uses a new IEEE 802.11a/b/g standard which allows the network speeds to dynamically shift up to 54Mbps. Besides, as it is downward compatible to the 802.11b world recognized standard, the WL54AG gives you wireless accessibility to a network anytime and anywhere. With the support of 64-bit or 128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), it provides additional security for wireless LAN communications.
Product Description
The Compex 54 Mbps Wireless-A/G Cardbus adapter iWavePort WL54AG gives user five times the data transfer compared to the 802.11b devices. With the support for the 802.11g standards, it is able to inter-operate with legacy 802.11b devices without hassle giving the users the option to migrate to the G wireless networks with freedom. The support for 802.11a wireless networks gives the users freedom to roam from different types of wireless networks without disrupting their data transfers. The WL54AG supports advanced security features in additional to the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) like the IEEE 802.1x and the draft IEEE 802.11i that supports both Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for the highest level of security in any wireless LAN products. This versatile wireless card is the ideal solution for migrating and operating in different wireless environment.
802.11a Turbo Mode
The WL54AG allows turbo operation when operating with similar Atheros based 802.11a devices that provides burst-mode of up to 108Mbps.
WEP Security
The iWavePort WL54AG PC card supports 64-bit, 128-bit or 152-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption thus insured that data remains secured in the wireless network. Only wireless clients that are configured with the same WEP key are able to retrieve the encrypted data.
Reliable Operations
iWavePort WL54AG is IEEE 802.11a/g compliant and able to inter-operate with all current wireless network devices that are also built on IEEE 802.11a/b/g standard. In addition, the dynamic rate shifting capability allows automatic selection of optimum connection speed to
any wireless LAN devices or access points.
Management & Monitoring
The WLAN manager offers user-friendly interface to configure all the features of the card effortlessly.
Advanced Security
The advanced security supported by WL54AG is the industry recognized IEEE 802.1x for wireless authentication of wireless clients through authorized radius server. The support for Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) uses a stronger cryptography method to encrypt the data. Using Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) enables the temporal key that is needed to encrypt the data to be dynamically changed thus deterring unauthorized users from decoding the wireless data traffic easily.
Easy Installation
Plug-N-Play feature enables user to simply install and use the iWavePort WL54AG Cardbus Adapter effortlessly.
Flexibility
The iWavePort WL54G Cardbus adapter is easily deployed on notebook PC which utilizes the
PCMCIA slot. Just plug it into any PCMCIA slot and it is ready to share the network resources in the wireless environment.
