The Compex PS2208B is a compact pocket switch that is suitable for LAN gamers or Small Office Home Office (SOHO) users deploying a Local Area Network (LAN). The Auto MDI/MDI-X feature allows users to plug any types of Category 5 Ethernet cables into any port for immediate network communications. PS2208B is designed with full bandwidth non-blocking architecture, thus allowing data to transfer at wire speed. In addition, the PS2208B has eight independent switching segments that allow collision-free frame forwarding from one port to another.

With its backplane capacity of 1.6Gbps, data transfer is at an average of 200 Mbps per port at full duplex mode allowing every node to perform at their maximum performance.

The PS2208B switch is complaint to the IEEE 802.3 10 Base-T and 802.3u 100 Base-Tx standards, ensuring full compatibility with all networking devices.

Dynamic Address Learning & Filtering This feature allows PS2208B maintains a media access control (MAC) address table to direct the data packets to and from each node avoiding any collision.

Plug and Play Operations

The PS2208B can operate out of the box with no further configuration needed. Its in-built auto-negotiation feature allows 10/100 Mbps auto-sensing ports to adjust the speed to the workstations or servers Ethernet adapter used. Auto MDI/MDI-X is featured in every port that allows any type of Category 5 Ethernet cable to be used.
